Buttonobit-webWAKEFIELD — Barbara A. (Dulong) Button, 85, of Wakefield passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 21, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Barbara was born on March 20, 1930 in Wakefield. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Barbara was employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 22 years. Her passions included reading, doing crossword puzzles, entertaining children and coloring.

She also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. Summers were enjoyed at her summer home in Maine.

Barbara was a very generous woman. Everyone would remark about what a lovely lady she was. Most of all, Barbara will be remembered for her love of laughter.

Barbara was the beloved and devoted mother of Linda B. Carter and her husband Paul, Donna M. Woodland, Charlene A. Kalivas and her companion Edwin Morgan, Timothy A. Button and his wife Joan, Danielle J. Marifiote and the late Warren C. Button. She was the cherished grandmother of 16 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 14. Barbara was the former wife of Charles W. Button.

The funeral from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading, will be on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrating Barbara’s Eternal Life in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10:30 a.m.

Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Parking attendants and ramped entrance are available. Interment Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
