NORTH READING — The NRHS boys’ basketball team had two Cape Ann League All-Stars selected by the coaches for the 2022-23 season as senior captains Andrew Boulas and Logan Scribner both got the nod.

Boulas was named All-League one season after getting an All-Star award. He was one of the league’s most feared offensive players this year, averaging close to 20 point per game. He scored a career-high 34 points in a close loss to Manchester-Essex.

Scribner was named an All-Star, the highlight of his season coming on a game-winning layup over Abington in the first round of the state tournament. He averaged close to 14 points per game this season.

“Both Andrew and Logan are highly deserving of these honors,” said head coach Joe Casey. “Both established themselves as two of the best players in the league.”

The Hornets had a strong season, finishing 10-10 and beating Abington in the preliminary round in one of the most thrilling state tournament games in recent memory. North Reading also earned the CAL Sportsmanship Award.

“I’m very proud of everyone associated with the program for being selected for the Sportsmanship award,” said Casey. “This was as good of a group of kids that we have ever had. We played hard every night and represented the school well throughout the season.”
