PEABODY — Brenda A. (Wentworth) Morneault of Peabody, formerly of Melrose passed away peacefully at Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family on March 26. She was 79 years old.

Brenda was born on October 15, 1944 in Lynn to Roger and Mary (Mullen) Wentworth. She was an only child and was raised in Falmouth, ME. She graduated from Falmouth High School in 1962. Brenda attended The Bronx Community College in NY and worked as a Registered Nurse in various health care facilities for many years.

Brenda is survived by her former spouse, John Morneault of Windham, ME and their three children: John “Jay” Morneault, Jr. of Wakefield; Erica Savage and husband Steven of Groton; and Benjamin Morneault and wife Susan of Windham, ME. Additionally, six grandchildren: Michael Savage, Bobby Morneault, Curtis Morneault, Kayla Savage, Dustin Morneault and Marissa Morneault; as well as three great-grandchildren: Ambros Savage, Asher Morneault and Theodore Savage.

Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday, April 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asked for donations be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970 to honor her love of animals.
