STONEHAM — Carl M. Manzella, a longtime Wakefield resident, died Thursday, March 26, at the Life Care Center of Stoneham.

Born in Melrose on Aug. 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Michael and Pansy (Quinzio) Manzella.

Carl was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School and went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute. He was a retired draftsman for Stone and Webster Engineering.

Carl enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Unicorn Golf Club in Stoneham.

Carl is survived by his sister Diane G. Paone and her husband Peter of Malden. He is also survived by his three nephews: Peter Jr., Michael and Paul Paone. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Manzella.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
