MELROSE — Carol A. (Kennedy) Aloi, 71, of Melrose, passed away on Oct. 21.

Carol was born in Somerville on May 17, 1944 to Arthur and Eleanor Kennedy. She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Matignon High School. During this time she met the love of her life, Gregory Aloi. The two started dating their senior year of high school and were later married at St. Catherine Church in Somerville in 1967.

After living briefly in Medford, Carol and Greg moved to Melrose to start their family, where they would remain to this day. Carol was very devoted to her family and was a perfect mother and homemaker.

Carol once worked as a legal secretary at a real estate law firm, she frequently did volunteer work around town, she spent time gardening and she loved to shop.

Carol enjoyed spending summers at her family cottage in Winthrop throughout her whole life. The beach and the ocean were her favorite places to go.

She was so proud of her grandchildren and loved to spoil them. Carol will be greatly missed by all who knew her, she was happiest around her family and loved them more than words could express.

She was the beloved wife of Gregory Aloi of Melrose. She was the loving mother of Cheryl Thibault and her husband Scott of Newburyport, Catherine Boese and her husband John of Andover and Kristin Wilcox and her husband Reginald of Millis. She was the cherished grandmother of Michelle, Ryan, Rebecca, Jack, SaraBeth, Timothy, Kyle and Megan. She was the caring sister of Arthur Kennedy, Joanne Letch, Robert Kennedy and Paul Kennedy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation took place on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose. The funeral procession was from the Gately Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 26, at 8 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 429 Upham St., Melrose at 9 a.m.

Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
