An animal lover, enjoyed the beach and traveling

WAKEFIELD — On Monday, December 26, 2022, Carole Ann M. Scovel of Wakefield passed away peacefully at Tufts Hospital in Boston.

Carole-Ann was born January 17, 1947 at the Gardiner Hospital in Gardiner, Maine. As a child she moved around to other states such as California before moving back to Maine and then eventually settling in Massachusetts where she lived in Melrose and finally Wakefield.

As a child she was great in sports. She enjoyed reading and always did great in school. History was a favorite subject of hers. She loved animals throughout her entire life. She supported many animal shelters and causes such as PAWS. She loved the beach as well as going back to Maine on summer vacation trips to see the areas she grew up in. She always looked forward to her Friday morning breakfast time with her son Jason at the Omelette Headquarters and afternoon phone conversations with Sean. She traveled to many places around the world with her husband Richard, to England, Hawaii, Palau, to the famous World War II pacific battle island of Peleliu and Alaska.

Carole was the loving wife to Richard Scovel of Wakefield, mother of two to Sean and Jason Murray both of Wakefield and grandmother of three to Erin Murray of Bradford Mass, Emily LeMay of Londonderry N.H. and Joshua Murray of Londonderry N.H. Brother to Glen Cobb, sister-in-law to Renee Cobb (predeceased) of Wakefield and brother to Robert Cobb (predeceased) of Wakefield. She also was the best aunt too many nieces and nephews as well being a great-aunt.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, Dec. 30 from 4-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery, 470 Lowell St., Wakefield on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 10 a.m.
