Historic 12-year-old All-Stars are off to the State Finals

THE MELROSE Little League 12-year-old All-Stars are on to the State Finals in North Reading where they will compete with three other teams to be crowned as the Massachusetts State Champions. This team is the first Melrose Little League 12-year-old team to make the State Finals since 1983. THE MELROSE Recreation Department hosted Community Night at Morelli Field last Wednesday during the Melrose Americans’ Intercity League game against the Watertown Reds. The Recreation Department provided free slush, games, entertainment, and music for many young baseball fans. Kids got to stand with the Americans during the National Anthem (above), and many fun games were available to play during a beautiful night for a ball game.

THE 1992 Melrose Little League 12-year-old All-Stars are celebrating their 25-year district 12 championship anniversary this week. They were the first Melrose Little League district champs since 1983, and the last since this year's 10 and 12-year-old All-Stars both won district 12 championships. The '92 team was managed by Mike Iudice.
