MELROSE—The Melrose Athletic Hall of Fame is proud to announce their 2017 class.
Nine Melrose High School athletes, one coach and one team represent the inductees of Melrose High to be honored at the 16th Melrose Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Banquet on Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will be held at the Learning Commons at Melrose High School at 4:30 p.m. with a banquet to follow at 6:00 pm. at Memorial Hall on Main Street. Tickets will be for sale at Tarpey Insurance on West Foster Street in Melrose for $40.00 starting on July 29.
The newest members of the Melrose Athletic Hall of Fame are:
Gary Bernard, Melrose High School, Class of 1972. State champion wrestler.
Richard Bernard, Melrose High School, Class of 1969. State champion wrestler.
David Brady, Coach – Melrose High School girls’ basketball. (1995-2006)
John W. Connery, co-founder and first President of MHS Athletic Hall of Fame (1993-2016)
Dan Lounsbury, Melrose High School, Class of 2001. All Star, Track & Cross Country.
Jack Pizzotti, Melrose High School, Class of 2009. Football All Scholastic.
Frank Sampson, Melrose High School, Class of 1986. Swim team record holder.
Karen Sen, Melrose High School, Class of 2006 Salutatorian. All Scholastic volleyball, basketball.
Paula Sen, Melrose High School, Class of 2006 Valedictorian. All Scholastic volleyball, basketball.
Alexandra Zedros, Melrose High School, Class of 2004. Div. 1 Soccer recruit.
1971 Melrose High School State Champion Golf team.
