ObitCreesy-webBEVERLY — Charles L. Creesy Jr., 88, beloved husband of June C. (Swan) Creesy, died Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Charles L. Sr. and Grace (Copp) Creesy. He was a proud graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1944, and had attended all of the reunions.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as an airplane mechanic during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Corps.

Mr. Creesy had been employed for many years as a federal bank examiner and then as an auditor in the banking industry until the time of his retirement.

A resident of Wakefield, he was a member of the Wakefield Retired Men’s Club and had enjoyed many traveling experiences with his wife June following his retirement.

He found most of his enjoyment in seeing his grandchildren grow over the years and all their accomplishments. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Robert Creesy and his wife Denyse of Beverly and David Creesy and his wife Janice of Merrimac; five grandchildren: Alicia and Jenny Creesy, Jack, Sarelle and Bridget Creesy, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Carolyn Creesy.

His funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m.
