Due to failing health, he and his wife had moved in with their daughter and her husband, Carol and Lloyd Butler of Nashua, in 2006.

He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, on May 24, 1920, son of the late Gladys (Martin) and Charles Frederick Loveys, Sr. He attended the Melrose  school system where he played tennis, hockey and skied. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1938. Following graduation he worked as a bookkeeper for Trimount Dredging Corp in Boston until he enlisted in the US Navy and served as a radioman at the AmphibTraBases in Portsmouth VA and Little Creek VA, until 1945. Following his discharge from the Navy, he went to work for State Street Bank and Trust Co. located in Boston and Quincy, and retired in 1982 at which time he was an Assistant Treasurer working in personnel. Charlie was an avid gardener, reader, crossword puzzle buff and tennis player, playing tennis into his early 80’s. His family was extremely important to him and he was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved all the animals that were part of Lloyd and Carol’s family, especially their dog, Sassy.

While living in North Reading, he was an active member of the Union Congregational Church and then transferred his membership to First Church Manchester when they moved to Goffstown.
