LYNNFIELD — This coming weekend, the Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) U10 boys’ team will have the unique experience of entertaining a U10 team of 9- and 10-year-old players from Shenzhen, China.
Along with U10 teams from Wakefield and North Reading, the four soccer clubs will come together at Lynnfield High School’s new athletic field complex for a two-day jamboree.
Games will start at 9 a.m. and end at approximately noon on both Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. The event will conclude with an awards presentation after the last game on Sunday.
“It’s not often that a team from China makes it to the USA and to have them playing our very own Lynnfield kids will be a great experience!” commented LYSC Chairman Steven Connolly.
The connection to the Chinese soccer club was coordinated by former LYSC Board of Directors member John Simonetti through a mutual business acquaintance.
The public is invited to come down to the LHS fields to enjoy the games and cheer on the players.
