PORTLAND, Tenn. — Wakefield family mourns the loss of another son.

Christopher Joseph Bellavia, 42, the oldest son of Wakefield resident retired LTC Joseph F. Bellavia has passed into everlasting peace unexpectedly at his home in Portland, Tenn. on Aug. 22. He had just turned 42 on Aug. 17.

He was a volunteer firefighter for many years in the Portland area until deciding to seek a full time position with the Nashville Fire Dept. He served as an EMT locally until he earned his paramedic license.

He leaves behind a wife Amanda; three sons: Senior Airmen CJ and his wife Olivia of Barksdale AFB, La., Brandon of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Gino of Portland, Tenn.; a daughter Brooklyn Jo of Portland; his father and stepmother Susan; brother SGT Jonathan Bellavia and his wife Erica, and nephew Joseph P. Bellavia, all from Portland, and stepbrother Paul Turcotte from Seymour, Wisc.

He was predeceased by his mother Theresa Havicon and his brother SSG Joseph (KIA – Iraq 2003); aunt Annmarie Lannin of Upper Marlboro, Md. and numerous cousins.

The arrangements were handled by the Portland Funeral Chapel.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Wakefield Elks, 63 Bay State Rd., Wakefield, on Friday, Sept. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a collation.
