Worked at Russo’s Candy for 30 years

 

SAUGUS — Mrs. Claire A. (Kenney) Anderson, 90, died on Friday, Oct. 17 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Anderson.

Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Preshong) Kenney and lived in Saugus since 1965.

Mrs. Anderson worked for 30 years as a candy dipper for Russo’s Candy in Saugus and formerly worked at Schrafft’s Candy which was located in Charlestown. She also was a very active member of Blessed Sacrament parish in Saugus.

Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Robert L. Anderson of North Reading, Dennis M. Anderson of Saugus, Thomas P. Anderson–Pecus and his partner Ken Anderson-Pecus of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Diane Kelly and her husband Dan of Cape Neddick, Maine; one brother, George Kenney and his wife Edna of Whitman and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson also was predeceased by her daughter Jean Clapp.

Her funeral was held from the Bisbee–Porcella Funeral Home in Saugus on Wednesday, Oct. 22, followed by funeral Mass at the Blessed Sacrament Church,  Saugus. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
