Jancsy-obit-webEAST LONGMEADOW — Clare M. (McEnroe) Jancsy, 93, passed away 11 days after her husband, on September 26, at East Village Place in East Longmeadow.

Mrs. Jancsy was born in Everett on August 7, 1923, was raised in Everett and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy High School in Brighton.

She has been a resident of Melrose since 1957.

Clare was a devoted wife, mother and nana who loved her family and was cherished by all of them. Mrs. Jancsy loved baking, sharing her Linzer Torte, celebrating family occasions and holidays and especially loved all the family dinners.

She and her late husband Henry enjoyed taking trips to Nags Head and the Outer Banks in North Carolina, spending time in Deerfield Beach, Florida and traveling throughout Europe.

Clare was adored and loved by the staff at East Village Place in East Longmeadow, MA and the Jancsy family are extremely grateful for the wonderful care she was given.

Mrs. Jancsy was the beloved wife of 70 years to the late Henry P. Jancsy. She was the loving mother of the late Dennis Jancsy and his wife Rosetta of OH, Ann Marie Bryson and her husband Jim of FL, Steven Jancsy of Haverhill, Richard Jancsy and his wife Linda of NH, Cathy Griffin of CT, Paul Jancsy of NY, Terry Poisson and her husband Robert of Longmeadow and Robert Jancsy and his wife Charlene of Wakefield. She was the caring sister of the late Edward McEnroe. She s also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
