NORTHBOROUGH — Last Saturday, the Lynnfield-North Reading-Danvers High co-op gymnastics team competed in the North Sectionals at Algonquin Regional High School. The Falcons placed third with a team score of 146.475 and advanced to the State Championships.

Central Catholic came in first (147.075) and Masconomet was second (146.600).

Kaylee Wescott led the way for the Falcons as the 8th-grader came in third overall in the all-around with a score of 37.550. She was first on the floor (9.8), fourth in the vault (9.5), tied for seventh on the bars (9.1) and 14th on the balance beam (9.15).

Maddie Migliero was tied for eighth overall in the all-around with a 36.050. The Lynnfield freshman was fourth on the floor (9.675), 13th in the vault (8.775), and she tied for 16th on the bars (8.55) and beam (9.050).

Wescott’s sister, Maddie, also had a solid showing. The sophomore captain had a 9.575 on the beam to tie for second. She tied for fourth on the bars (9.25), and was tenth in the vault with a 9.1.

Lynnfield ninth-grader, Camryn Donovan placed second on the bars (9.5), eighth on the floor (9.4), and tied for 25th on the beam (8.8).

“We had a rocky start on vault but we came out for the next rotation and did really well as a team on bars,” said Falcons head coach Jen Habeeb. “The beam was another rough rotation for us but we finished with a really strong floor rotation.”

The Falcons are the third seed out of eight schools in the State Championships this Saturday back at Algonquin. That meet will start at 2 pm.

“We are thrilled to be competing in the state finals meet this weekend,” stated Habeeb. “This will be the first time in my eight years coaching that we have qualified as a team to states.”

On Feb. 20, the State Individuals took place at Tewksbury High School. Kaylee Wescott was third in the vault (9.7) and floor (9.7). She placed eighth on the bars (8.9) and came in fifth in the all-around (37.225).

“Kaylee placing fifth overall in the state as an 8th grader is an incredible accomplishment,” said Habeeb. “She was pushing through a hip injury but still managed to perform at a high level. She has been a rock for us all season and we look forward to having her on our team for the next four years.”

Maddie Wescott placed seventh on the bars (8.925) and was tenth on the beam (9.15).

Migliero was fifth on the floor (9.55) and sixth on the vault (9.5). Donovan, meanwhile, placed eighth on the bars with an 8.9.

“Maddie also had an impressive meet and was just shy of placing in the all around,” pointed out Habeeb. “She too has been a solid performer for us overall this season. Maddie had some great events as well on the vault and the floor. She has been consistent on these events for us all season. Camryn has been another key performer and showcased a beautiful bar routine and beam routine.”
