NORTH READING — The North Reading 11–year-old “Cobras” completed their third straight undefeated season with a perfect 8-0 spring season and qualifying for the playoffs at Pingree School in Hamilton.
The Cobras beat North Andover 2–1 in the quarter-finals. In the semi–finals, they played another North Reading team (Vipers) to a tie through OT. Cobras won on penalty kicks in an exciting game with many North Reading fans in attendance.
In the thrilling championship game, the Cobras finally fell to Boxford in overtime. Although all three playoff games were against 12–year–old teams, the Cobras made it to the final minutes of the season with an electrifying playoff run.
