Members of the community interested in seeking an active role in a newly formed committee to oppose the Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline in Lynnfield are invited to contact Selectman Tom Terranova.

The NED pipeline is a gas transmission line expansion project that would travel through five states proposed by the Tennessee Gas Pipeline/Kinder Morgan.

Terranova hosted a community meeting Aug. 20 on this topic and states that the “resounding opinion” of those in attendance “was to stop the Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline in Lynnfield.”

“Currently I am working with Katy Shea and several others to organize a Lynnfield committee to oppose the NED Pipeline,” he stated.

Townspeople may contact him via e-mail at tomtselectman@gmail.com or his Facebook page. They may also contact Shea via the Lynnfield Initiative for Transparency Blog at lynnfieldtransparency.com

“Updates opposing the NED pipeline will be posted to both the Lynnfield Transparency Blog and my Facebook page, so please stay in contact with us regarding this explosive issue,” he said.
