METHUEN – Dana A. Muise, 59, beloved husband of Diane L. (Ouellette) Muise, passed away Dec. 8 at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Dana was born in Melrose on Oct. 22, 1955 and was raised in Wakefield, the son of Harold and Marie “Celeste” (Bourque) Muise. He attended school in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School, Class of 1973.
Dana continued his education at Lowell University and received his F.A.A. certification in Aircraft Mechanics and Maintenance from East Coast Aero Technical School. Dana was employed as a metal smith for many years at A.J.P. Coppersmith in Wakefield and most recently as a mechanics operator at Bemis Associates, Inc., Plastics Fabrication Company in Shirley.
Dana was a true believer in enjoying the simple pleasures that life had to offer and especially embraced life after overcoming a serious illness in 1994. He truly enjoyed his family, his friends, great camping, outdoor experiences and loved wildlife and nature’s beauty.
Dana was fortunate to travel to France and Saint Martin and nothing made him happier than a great cup of coffee. He loved music very much and was a devoted animal lover and shared many wonderful pets that came into his life, especially his dog, Charlotte and his cat Cinnamon.
He also loved sports, especially the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and NASCAR. Dana loved the Three Stooges. His proudest moment was when he escorted his daughter Tara down the aisle to be married this past spring.
Dana had a warm smile, a great sense of humor and a generous heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dana is survived by his devoted wife Diane, with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage this past April. He also leaves his daughter Tara and her husband Mark S. Gosselin Jr. of Londonderry, N.H. Besides his parents, Dana is also survived by his brothers Alan and his wife Nancy Muise of Anchorage, Alaska, Martin and his wife Nancy of Norfolk, Louis and his wife Lauren Muise of Haverhill, and Kenneth Muise also of Haverhill. His mother-in-law, Pauline F. Ouellette of Lawrence, formerly of Salem, N.H. Sisters-in-law, Elaine (Ouellette) and her husband Frank Grelle, Joanne Ouellette and dear family friend Kathleen Raftery of Pepperell. Many nieces, nephews and countless, cherished friends.
The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the extraordinary team at the Lawrence General Hospital for the exceptional care and support they provided to Dana and his family.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
