SAUGUS — Daniel J. Carroll, 40, of Saugus, formerly of Wakefield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, November 16.
Born in Boston on December 16, 1977, he was the son of John H. Carroll of Wakefield and the late Marion E. (Theall) Carroll. Danny was a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School, class of 1996, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1996 to 2000. He was employed by GE Aviation in Lynn as a mechanical manufacturing inspector.
Danny was a devoted father to his two children, Tommy and Jackie. He is also survived by his brothers: Matthew and his wife, Rebecca, of Westford; Christopher and his wife, Alana, of Burlington; and his sister, Tara Roper, and her husband, John, of Cumming, Ga. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews: Madelyn, Grace, Katie and Quinn Carroll; Tommy and Joshua Lee and Caiden and Jaycie Carroll; and Caroline, Maggie and Jacob Roper.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Saturday, November 24 at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visitation for friends and relatives will take place on Friday, November 23 at McDonald Funeral Home from 2 to 6 p.m.
