Coganobit-webWAKEFIELD — Daniel K. “Danny” Cogan, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, entered into eternal life suddenly, Monday, April 24, 2017, following a long struggle with addiction. He was 22 years old.

Danny was born in Tucson, Arizona on December 28, 1994, a son of Linda D. (McGunigle) Cogan and Kenneth C. Cogan. He grew up in Wakefield where he was educated in the Wakefield Public School system and graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School in 2013.

Danny had been working for a moving company for several years. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and dirt biking but his most passionate pastime was helping others and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Danny is the loving son of Linda D. (McGunigle) Cogan of Wakefield and Kenneth C. Cogan and his wife Victoria of Maine. He is the devoted brother of Ryan Cogan of Wakefield. He is the beloved grandson of Kenneth Cogan and his wife Allyce of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Margot Ferguson of Pinellas Park, Florida and the late Billy and Chickie (Flanagan) McGunigle. He is the beloved nephew of Billy McGunigle, Brenda Mead and is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Danny’s visiting hours on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with his funeral service at 1:30 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield. His burial is private.
