MELROSE — Daniel P. Rotunno, 52, of Melrose, died at home unexpectedly on Jan. 6.

Dan was born and raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1981. He was a lifelong Melrose resident and worked as a machinist for Victor Microwave in Wakefield for several years and also as a bartender at the Melrose Elks Club for many years.

Dan was a member and past exalted ruler at the Melrose Elks Club and enjoyed spending time at the beach in Rockport.

He was an avid reader and Red Sox, Bruins, Dolphins and Celtics fan.

Dan was the loving son of the late Paul and Anna (Greelish) Rotunno. He was the caring brother of Joseph Rotunno of Everett, Robert Rotunno and his wife Linda of Melrose, Teri Batting and her husband Brett of Malden and the late Paula (Rotunno) Guerino. He was the devoted uncle of Steven Guerino and his fiancée Amanda Bucco of Beverly and Brian and Kevin Batting of Malden. He was the godfather of Krysta Kittredge of Wakefield.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Jan 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m.

Burial will be private.
