His smile brought warmth to those he met
WAKEFIELD — Daniel Matthew “Danny” Pike, 48, of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 9.
Danny was born January 20, 1976, the son of the late Donald Pike Sr. and the late Donna Lee (Muller) Pike. He has lived in Wakefield and attended the Wakefield Public School System, graduating from the School to Life Program.
Throughout his life, Danny participated in various sporting events and activities including Challenger Basketball through the Wakefield Basketball Association (WBA), Special Olympics swimming through the New England Aquatics swim team and being a faithful member of the Friends of Special Olympics (FOSO) Jazz basketball team. Danny was a cherished Stop and Shop and Communitas Communities member. He enjoyed Wakefield’s 4th of July festivities with his friend Matty Raposo. Danny also volunteered as a summer Custodian at the Galvin Middle School.
Danny had an infectious smile that would light up a room. His smile was the kind that would bring warmth to the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to meet him. That smile and warmth made him known as a lifelong and faithful friend to Ash Connelly, Joey Elecwicz and Brenden O’Keefe. Danny was the right-hand man to his brother Donny. You could often find Danny riding around with Donny, doing small jobs for anyone and everyone. He loved his brother, his caretaker and his mentor Donny.
Survivors include brother Donald Pike Jr., Wakefield; sister Katheryn (Pike) Mastrogiacomo and Joseph, Danville, NH; sister Jody Pike, Danville, NH; and uncle to Robert Trepsas, Joshua Mastrogiacomo and Isabella Watterson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Galvin Middle School Cafeteria on October 26, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m.
