Wardens take top spot

WAKEFIELD — In week nine of the Knights of Columbus bowling league’s season, Dave Curran topped the league with a 335.

Curran had strings of 109-113-113 and teammate Bill DeRoche Jr. had a 301, but the guards suffered a 7-1 loss to the Lecturers.

The Lecturers were led by John Hourihan’s 311.

Roy Butt’s 326 pushed the Wardens into first place as they posted a 7-1 defeat over the Chancellors. Ian Power rolled a 320 for the Chancellors who dropped from first to third place in a very tight race.

In a low scoring match, Bill DeRoche Sr.’s 294 helped the second place Recorders take a 6-2 decision from the Advocates. Brian Brickley was high for the Advocates.
