CAPE ANN — David M. Russell, 71, of Cape Ann died Friday, Nov. 6, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.

Born in Peabody on Jan. 11, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Smith) Russell.

Mr. Russell was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Tech. He had retired from General Electric in Lynn where he had worked as a machinist. Mr. Russell was a car enthusiast and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was devoted to his family.

Mr. Russell was the husband of the late Sharon Russell. He is survived by his two sons: David C. Russell and Keith F. Russell Sr., both of Gloucester, and his daughter Melanie Russell of Chicopee. He is also survived by his grandchildren Katie Stanton and Keith Russell Jr., as well as many cousins.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
