Murphyobit-webWAKEFIELD — Diana E. Murphy, 21, of Wakefield died August 23 peacefully at home after a lifelong, heroic battle with cystic
fibrosis.

Diana was born in Winchester on October 22, 1995 and was the beloved daughter of Kimberly K. (Ward) Murphy and the late Richard D. Murphy.

Diana was a resident of Wakefield and was a graduate from Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 2014, and she later attended Emmanuel College of Boston. She was a talented writer and enjoyed reading, her pen pal and jewelry making and especially enjoyed time spent at her grandmother’s farm in New Hampshire.

She worked as an administrative assistant at Brookfield Services of Reading and loved her pet cat Princess Leia.

In addition to her mother, Diana is survived by her sister Katie M. Murphy of Wakefield and also her devoted fiancé Kenny Costa, also of Wakefield. She was the granddaughter of Dilys Morris of NH, Charles Ward and his wife Diane of Medfield and Janet Murphy of Wakefield and her late husband Paul.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10.

Interment will follow at Forest Glade Cemetery.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Monday 4-8 p.m.
