Donald-Jacques-Obit-webMIDDLETON — Mr. Donald A. Jacques, age 80, of Middleton, passed away May 24 in Beverly Hospital after a long, courageous battle with dementia. He was the husband of Elaine (Gannon) Jacques, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage, and was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Raptel) Jacques. Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen (Holbrook) Jacques.

Donald had worked for General Electric in Lynn until his retirement. He loved the game of golf, and was a long time member of the Thomson Country Club in North Reading. He was also an avid Boston sports fan. He and his wife enjoyed spending winters in Fort Pierce, FL.

In addition to his wife, Elaine, he is survived by two step–daughters; Stephanie Howard and her husband Steven of Peabody and Kimberley Hayden of Salem; two grandchildren; Jake and Taylor Howard; his brothers-in-law; Robert Howard of Lynn and Lawrence Gannon, Jr. and his wife Judy of Charlottesville, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Helen “Lu” Howard and brother-in-law of the late Janice (Gannon) Vance.

His memorial service was held May 29 in the Solimine Funeral Home, Lynn. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
