Pipefitter and welder graduated from NRHS

 

Donald-Berridge-OBIT-webMETHUEN — Donald W. Berridge, 64, of Methuen, formerly of Londonderry, N.H. and North Reading, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

Born in Winchester  on Jan. 11, 1951, He was raised and attended school in North Reading and was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1969. He was a member of the Army National Guard, with the 101st Engineer Battalion.

Donny was a pipefitter and welder for 40 years and a member of the Pipefitters Union Local 537 in Boston and has been retired for the past eight years.

He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to make others around him laugh by telling jokes and playing pranks. Donny enjoyed working with his hands, which included anything from working on his home to fixing up his cars. He was a former umpire for Babe Ruth Baseball in Londonderry, N.H. He liked listening to country music and reading the comics on Sunday mornings occasionally sending them to his family members so they could share in the laughter.

Family members include his loving wife of 41 years, Doreen (Nolan) Berridge; his daughter Lauren Berridge of Hollis, N.H.; his son, Matthew Berridge and his wife Charlene of Saugus; his mother Nancy Florence of North Reading; brothers Jeffery Florence and his wife Chrissy of Palmer, the late Robert Michael Florence and Stephen Florence; sisters, Nancy Lundgren and her husband Richard of Andover, Trisha Noonan and her husband Doug of Maryland, Marie DeLisle and her husband Steve; Lynda Florence, all of North Reading, Sandra Florence of Middleton, Heidi McMinn and her husband Mike of Holden, Holly DeLisle of Tewksbury, Laurie Morse of Salem, N.H., Lynnann Florence of Canaan, Maine and Wendy Florence of Methuen; and his cherished grandchildren, Camryn and Holly Berridge of Saugus.

His funeral will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Thursday, June 4 at 10 a.m. Calling hours on Wednesday, June 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
