WAKEFIELD — Donald J. Robinson, 79, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Saturday, March 21 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Melrose on Sept. 24, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Marjorie (Dulong) Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1953. He was a retired security guard at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston and Malden Hospital. Mr. Robinson had served in the United State Air Force Reserves at Hanscom Air Force Base In Bedford for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife Jean S. (Koszalka) Robinson, his daughter Lisa Carisella and her husband Vincent of Wakefield, his two granddaughters Brittany and Vanessa Carisella; his brother Robert Robinson of Hampstead, N.H. and his sister Dorothy Callahan of Wilmington. Mr. Robinson was predeceased by his brother William Robinson and his sister Carolyn Cunha.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
