WAKEFIELD — Donald P. “Bucko” Curran, 85, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Wakefield on September 6, 1934, he was the son of the late John J. and Winifred (D’Entremont) Curran.

Mr. Curran was a graduate of Wakefield High School and had attended Northeastern University. He was a retired superintendent for the Wakefield Municipal Light Department, where he spent 43 years. Mr. Curran served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield, the West Side Social Club, the Wakefield Elks and the Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham.

He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Healey) Curran. Devoted and loving father of Dawn Demars and her husband Robert, Patrick F. Curran and his wife Pamela, John J. Curran “Jack” and his wife Elizabeth, John Narkun and his wife Karin all of Wakefield, James Narkun and his wife Elizabeth of Milton, N.H., Kelly Norwood and her husband Skip of Methuen and the late Holly Lyn. Beloved Bampy/Grampy to his treasured grandchildren, Lyndsay Giangregorio, Katherine, John “Jack”, Colleen and Daniel Curran, Samantha, Caitlin and Patrick Curran, Nicholas Botta, Sean Narkun, Jennifer, Brittany and Eric Weaver and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Curran was predeceased by his brother John J. Curran and sister Mary Glover.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for family and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12-4 p.m.
