Helped coach high school gymnastics team
HAMPSTEAD, NH — Donna Lynn (Fleming) Nelson, 44, of Hampstead, NH, and formerly of Wakefield, died unexpectedly September 6.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late David S. and Diana (Jones) Fleming and stepdaughter of Georgeina (MacDonald) Fleming of Ormond Beach, FL.
Donna was raised in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School, where she excelled in athletics. She was an outstanding gymnast and later assisted coaching the Wakefield High gymnastics team.
She graduated from Middlesex Community College and Kathryn Gibbs. She was employed as an administrative secretary at Bake ‘N Joy in Andover.
Donna was a hard worker and had a heart of gold; she was fun-loving, kind and outgoing. She adored her children and was happiest being at home with her family.
She was the loving companion and fiancé of David Ricardo and the cherished mother of Hannah Nelson and Spencer Nelson of Hampstead, NH. She was the sister of David, Douglas and Darryl Fleming and Kathryn Preveri. She also leaves her grandmothers, Josephine Fleming of Yarmouthport and Jean Lewis of Quincy, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Visiting hours are Thursday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
