Longtime teacher at Berlitz School of Languages
WAKEFIELD — Jorge Olivardia, 90, of Wakefield and formerly of Somerville, died Friday, September 5, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Panama on December 19, 1923, he was the son of the late Jorge and Permina (Acosta) Olivardia.
Mr. Olivardia was a retired teacher from the Berlitz School of Languages in Boston where he had worked for 40 years. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 11 years.
Jorge was an avid reader and enjoyed travel and music.
He was the beloved husband of Adi (Timm) Olivardia. He was the loving father of Ricardo L. Olivardia of Wakefield, Adi I. Marciello and her husband Michael of Needham and Roberto C. Olivardia and his wife Sharon of Reading. He was the grandfather of Stephen and Matthew Marciello and Roman and Arianna Olivardia.
Funeral service in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, Saturday at 11 a.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m.
