GLEN, N.H. — Dorothy Anne (Brack) Jackel, 87, of Glen, New Hampshire, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Jackel for 57 years before his death in 2008.

Dorothy was born in Roxbury, Mass. and raised in Brighton, and was the eldest of four daughters of the late William and Myrtle (Snow) Brack. She was a graduate of Brighton High School and Boston University. Dorothy worked for many years for the Tower Glass Corporation in Woburn, and later was a US Postal Service employee in Glen.

In 1951, Dorothy and Paul were married, and the couple had six children together. They lived briefly in Arlington and then settled in Wakefield, Mass. where the family lived for nearly 40 years. Dorothy and Paul moved to Glen, N.H. in 1999, where they enjoyed their final years together in the White Mountains. She loved spending time with her family, gathering for vacations, birthdays, and holidays together, and especially enjoyed her time with her seven grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by five beloved children and their spouses; Paul Jackel and Jason Pelusio of Las Vegas, Nev.; Debra and Douglas Buxton of Ashburnham, Mass.; Susan and Craig Layton of Tewksbury, Mass.; Kristine and John Cotter of Glen, N.H.; and Eric and Lisa Jackel of Groton, Mass. She is also survived by grandchildren Cristal, Mackenzie, Jake, Amy, Evan, Emma, and Max, as well as her sisters Judith (Brack) Landry of Hudson, Mass., and Dianne (Brack) Toney of Chelmsford, Mass., and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy, and her sister, Zeta (Brack) Powers.

A remembrance service for Dorothy will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity (15 Grove St., North Conway, N.H.) on Tuesday, June 5, at 1 p.m. There will be no calling hours.
