Former resident owned Kenabar Motel

Olive-Liebermann-obit-webDENNISPORT — E. Olive (Thorp) Liebermann, 91, of Dennisport, formerly of Melrose, passed away on July 12, 2017 at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich.

She was born on January 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Tom Thorp and Eva (Benson) Thorp. Born and raised in Gorham, N.H., Olive graduated from Gorham High School. On September 6, 1947, she married Walter F. Liebermann and they settled in Melrose to raise a family of four children.

In 1969, they moved to Dennisport where they owned and operated the Kenabar Motel until 1973. After retiring, Olive was happy to be at home, knitting or sewing, or spending time with her family and friends. While living in Florida, she enjoyed dancing. In her free time, she loved caring for her flowers, gardening or playing music with her family around the Baby Grand Piano.

Olive was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Liebermann, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Marilyn McComas of Melrose, Janet Pano and her husband Robert of Sanbornton, N.H., Eva O. Liebermann of Marstons Mills, and Walter F. Liebermann Jr. and his wife Pamela Tolman of Melrose.

She was the dear sister of the late Walter Thorp and James Thorp. She was the cherished grandmother of Katherine Gallant of Melrose, Elena Pano of Tilton, N.H., Paula Pratt and her husband Joseph of East Kingston, N.H., Eva-Lynn Gifford and her husband Lon of Hyannis, Shauna Friar and her husband Justin of Southington, Conn., Joseph Liebermann, Sarah Liebermann, Adam Liebermann, Jennifer Tolman and Melissa Tolman, all of Melrose, and the late Robert Tolman. She was the loving great-grandmother of Hailey, Zoe, Annabelle, Joseph, Daniel, Reese, Jack, Emma, Bailey, Jeremiah, Karyzmah, Jaden and Johnny.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor of Olive’s life during visiting hours held at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, July 17, and again for her funeral service celebrated on Tuesday, July 18.
