World War II veteran, accountant for Western Electric
NORTH ANDOVER — Edward Donald McKenzie, 89, of North Andover and formerly of North Reading, died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence.
Edward was born in East Boston on July 11, 1925 and married to his beloved wife Jean, who passed in 2003, for 55 years. They raised their children in North Reading. His daughter, Jeanann McKenzie of New Bedford, his sons, Don McKenzie and his wife Nancy of Newtown, PA, Scott McKenzie and his wife Cindy of Duluth, GA and grandchildren Collin McKenzie, and Jackie McKenzie survive Ed.
Ed worked as an accountant at Western Electric in North Andover for many years and was particularly proud of his years running The Gavin House in South Boston, helping those suffering from substance abuse.
Ed was a proud veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1945.
He will be well remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father and a special grandfather. He had great love for his family and a wonderful sense of humor. There will be no service or calling hours.
