A brave, generous and charismatic woman

Abruzzese-Obit-webBELMONT — Sabrina Abruzzese of Belmont passed away Thursday evening, March 4, 2015 at her home. She was 47.

Sabrina was born in Boston to her loving and devoted parents Carmela (Sgrosso) Abruzzese and the late Libero Abruzzese. She was a lifelong resident of Belmont and a 1985 graduate of Belmont High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Boston.

Besides her mom, she is survived by her loving sisters Maria Lisa Conte of North Reading and Ivana Abruzzese of Belmont, her cherished niece and nephew Daniella and John Conte both of North Reading, and her beloved Rocky. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sabrina loved so many and was loved by so many; she had a tenacity for life and endured more than any one should in a lifetime; but she did it with beauty, grace and dignity. To all that knew and loved her, she was vivacious, beautiful, radiant and courageous; she was kind, brave, generous and charismatic; she would want us all to remember her that way.

Our family is devastated by her loss but at peace knowing that she is in the arms of God and with her rock; our dad; there is comfort in knowing that she is back in his loving embrace. They say that God calls upon special people and there is no doubt that he has done that, Sabrina’s love for family and friends made her nothing less than special.

Her mom, her sisters, her niece and nephew will forever be changed by her loss, but will carry her and their love for her in their hearts forever. Life on earth will never be the same without her.

We will miss her and think of her every day!

Sabrina’s funeral service was held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 325 Trapelo Rd., Belmont, on  Monday, March 16, with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Sabrina’s life at St. Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont. Interment followed at Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
