Social worker grew up in Lynnfield

LYNNFIELD — Eileen “Eily” Donegan grew up in Lynnfield, and was the beloved daughter of John H. Donegan and Honora “Tootie” Dorothea (LeMoure) Donegan.
Eily deeply loved her four brothers, John “Sonny” Sullivan, survived by his wife Jeannette Sullivan of Brockton; John “Jack” Donegan, survived by his wife Annette Donegan of Lynnfield; the late David T. Donegan and Cherri (O’Neil) Donegan of Lynnfield; and Stephen Donegan of Lynnfield. Eily is the loving aunt of 13 nieces and nephews, including her two goddaughters, Denise Donegan of Lynnfield and Kerri (Donegan) Trapasso of New Jersey. She is also survived by 15 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Eily was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston. Eily tirelessly worked and dedicated her professional life to helping people as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Department of Welfare–Division of Medical Assistance. Eily leaves many loving and devoted cousins and friends.
A funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield on Saturday, March 11. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Saturday prior to the funeral. Interment took place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
