Longtime program manager for Emmanuel College

Eleanor-Murphy-Obit-webLOWELL —  Eleanor L. Murphy of Lowell, formerly of North Reading, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday Aug. 17, 2015, at age 71.

She was the beloved wife of 17 years to Denis Ingham and the loving mother of James Murphy Jr. and his husband Kai Kan of Toronto, Canada, Kevin Murphy of Bradford and Brian Murphy and his wife Destiny of Fremont, N.H. She was also the cherished grandmother of Branden Murphy, William Mondello, Kara and Kevin Cooper, Shay and Tyler Ingham and the sister of the late William James and his wife the late Judy James. She was the aunt of Melissa James and Beth Divine. Other family members include Joseph, Betty, Paul, Robert and Colleen Murphy, Jim and Elaine Carter, Mark and Eleanor Gayhart, Denis and Sandra Ingham, Bill and Carol Mondello, Michael and Kathy Cooper.

Relatives and friends attended visiting hours at the J.F. Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, on Thursday, Aug. 20. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 21. Services concluded with interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Prior to Eleanor’s retirement, she was a longtime site manager for the Adult Learning Program at Emmanuel College in Boston.
