WAKEFIELD — Elizabeth Ann Ducey, 83, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at the Wakefield Center.

Born in Stoneham on May 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Elizabeth (Holden) Kenney.

Mrs. Ducey was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1952 and Melrose-Wakefield School of Nursing. She spent most of her career in the maternity unit at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Mrs. Ducey continued nursing until she devoted herself fully to her family. She was very fond of Ocean Park, Maine, where she spent many summers as a child and continued on the tradition with her own family, returning whenever possible.

Mrs. Ducey is survived by her husband Carl J. Ducey, her eight children; Carl J. Ducey, Jr. of Wakefield, Marcia Dattilio and her husband Eric of Tewksbury, Brian Ducey and his wife Diane of Lynn, Elaine Rockwood of Peabody, Steven Ducey and his wife Denise of Billerica, Peter Ducey and his wife Carol of Tewksbury, Ellen O’Connell and her husband William of Burlington and Barbara Shabarekh and her husband Louis of Salem; her 10 grandchildren; Andrew Rockwood and his wife Tiamarie, Daniel Rockwood, Perette Clemons and her husband Matthew, Kristina Ducey, Steven Ducey, Jr., Robert O’Connell, Megan O’Connell, Michelle Shabarekh, Elizabeth Shabarekh and Matthew Ducey. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ducey was predeceased by her brother Thomas Kenney, Jr.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
