REVERE — Elvera (DiOrio) Sasso, 98, formerly of Revere, died on June 30.
Elvera was born and raised in Everett and attend Everett schools. She resided in Revere for many years and worked as a sales clerk for Filene’s in Boston for over 20 years retiring at the age of 62.
Elvera was very outgoing and her family was the most important part of her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Armando Sasso for over 60 years. She was the loving mother of Joan D. White of S. Windsor, CT, Guy Sasso and his wife Jean of Stoneham and the late Thomas A. Sasso. She was the caring sister of the late Louise Scanzillo, Michael DiOrio, Joseph DiOrio, Mary Frongillo and Theresa Guarino. Also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, July 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
