Played tennis and basketball for NRHS

DERRY, NH — Eric R. Haak, 59, of Derry, NH, and formerly of North Reading, died unexpectedly on Feb. 5.

Eric was born in Somerville, was a graduate of North Reading High School, Class of 1975, and played on the tennis and basketball teams at North Reading High School. He resided in North Reading for many years and the past 34 years in Derry, NH.

Eric enjoyed playing softball for Tops Electronics in the North Reading softball league and also for the men’s basketball league in both Derry and Salem, NH for many years.

He also played hockey in the Sunday night hockey league at Hockey Town in Saugus and was an assistant coach for the Boys and Girls Club basketball team in Derry for several years.

Eric loved spending time at the ocean and his annual trips with his wife Maureen to Cancun, Mexico.

Eric was a very hard worker and worked as a truck driver in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts for many years and most recently for GH Berlin in Manchester, NH.

Eric was the beloved husband of Maureen A. (Mulcahy) Haak for 34 years. He was the loving and cherished father of Bryan R. Haak of Derry, NH. He was the devoted son of the late Connie E. (Cushman) Anderson. He was the caring brother of Carl Haak and his wife Tatiana, Karen Oldakawski, Sandra Lynch, Connie Cummings and the late Ruth Haak. He was the brother–in–law of Robert Mulcahy and Nancy Sprague and her husband Fred. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and one great–niece.
