SANDOWN, NH – Esther F. Chambers Columbus, 94, of Sandown, NH, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, Jan. 18, after a long and full life. She was the wife of the late Salvi Columbus Jr., and the daughter of Samuel F. Chambers and Eliza M. Chambers Face.
Born on May 17, 1920 in Lynn, MA, she graduated from Lynn English High School and lived in Saugus for many years where she was active in the East Saugus Methodist Church. She moved with her husband and family to North Reading, MA, later retiring and moving with her husband to Sandown, NH. She was a member of St. Mathews Church in Sandown where she shared her wonderful cooking talents and handiwork. She had many near and dear friends.
Esther is survived by her three children: Frank S. Columbus, Geraldine A. Columbus Jeanes and Leonard M. Columbus; six grand-children and eight great grand-children and sister; Florence Wadleigh.
A celebration of her life will take place at the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH on Friday, February 6 with visitation from 10-11 am and a service following at 11 am.
