MELROSE — The City of Melrose will team up with its hometown team, the Melrose Americans of the Intercity League, on Saturday, July 9 for family fun entertainment at Morelli Field during the Fifth Annual Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic.

This event will feature All Star teams from each of the four amateur baseball leagues in the Boston area including the Melrose Americans representing the Intercity League. These will all be nine inning games. The tournament will be a one day event with no consolation game.

The schedule for the tournament will be:

1 p.m. — Boston Park League at Intercity League (Melrose Americans)

4:30 p.m. — Cranberry Baseball League at Yawkey Baseball League

7:30 p.m. — Championship Game

The Melrose Recreation Department will be hand offering games, entertainment, music and more. Concessions will also be available during the game. First pitch and festivities will begin at 1 p.m. All kids are encouraged to wear their T-ball/Little League shirts. There is a $5 admission fee to help support the Melrose Americans.
