WAKEFIELD — The Lending Office of The Savings Bank will sponsor a free “First Time Homebuyer Seminar” on Wednesday March 29 from 7–9 p.m. at the bank’s main office, 351 Main Street, Wakefield.

The seminar provides an opportunity for area residents who are preparing for the purchase of their first home to receive professional guidance which will help them better understand what is involved in the home buying process. Among the topics to be addressed will be: Is now the right time to buy?

The seminar will feature local professionals who will discuss their areas of expertise in the home buying process, with a focus on qualifying for a mortgage and preparing the first-time homebuyer to become an informed buyer.

Attendees will also receive information about the special financing options available to first-time home buyers at The Savings Bank, as well as the important role of the mortgage officer, real estate broker, conveyance attorney and home inspector.

Information will also be available about affordable housing opportunities through MassHousing and the ONE Mortgage program.

Scheduled speakers include: attorney Mark Simeola of the law firm of Simeola & Simeola; home inspector John Carroll of ABC Home Inspection; Realtor Chris M. Barrett of Christopher J. Barrett Realtors of Wakefield; Vice President and Senior Retail Lending Officer Jeff D’Alessandro of The Savings Bank and Mortgage Originators Mario Giamei and Jeff Sarkisian, both of The Savings Bank.
