NORTH READING — Get ready to lace those sneakers for the return of the Fit Revolution Hornet Hustle 5K on Saturday, April 6.  Since resurrecting this fun community event in 2013, Fit Revolution has contributed over $18,000 in race proceeds to the North Reading community.

Fit Rev is excited to bring this road race back after several years on hiatus and hope to make its their best Hustle yet!

In the past, the event raised funds for the North Reading schools’ PE departments, helping to keep kids active and healthy throughout the school year. This year, the North Reading Fire Department needs support for its renovation project, and we’re ready to step up. The renovation project will extend the equipment bays to accommodate modern apparatus, add areas to decontaminate upon returning from fire scenes, and increase dormitory space, among other potential modifications.

Prizes will be awarded to the top female and male competitors in each age bracket and the first-place female and male finishers.

Lace up those sneakers and join the nearly 100 runners who have already signed up on April 6 at 9 a.m. at the Third Meeting House on the Common, 157 Haverhill Street, North Reading. Registration fees start at $20 for students, $30 for adults, and $70 for a family of four or more. Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, April 5 from 4–6 p.m. at Fit Revolution, 55 Concord St., North Reading.
