Suretteobit-webWAKEFIELD — Florence S. (DeLuca) Surette of Wakefield passed away on Saturday, July 29, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in East Boston on September 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Anthony DeLuca and Dorothy (Lane) Benoit.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard P. Surette, she leaves behind five children: Catherine Worthley and her husband Thomas of Higganum, CT; Peter Surette and his wife Pam of Middleton; Rhonda Surette and her partner Pamela Kesling of Horner, WV; Sharon Surette of North Reading and her companion Kirk Stowell; and Ann Ferraro and her husband James of Wilmington. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was the sister of John DeLuca of Revere, MA and deceased brother Ronald DeLuca of Salem, NH.

Florence was a beautiful person, exceptional wife, mother and wonderful friend. To know Florence was to know that she always had time for conversation and a cup of tea. She was happiest when entertaining family and friends. Florence had a great sense of humor and was a strong, warm and loving woman. Her generous spirit, beautiful smile and hugs that went unmatched will be missed. We love you Mom and we know you know!

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at
11 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 12 noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
