WAKEFIELD — Frances M. Fairfield, 75, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died April 21 at the Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose.

Born in Saugus on March 6, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles H. and Teresa F. (McGarry) Leggett.

Frances was raised in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School. She was retired from Stop and Shop in Stoneham. She was a Wakefield resident for 60 years.

Frances was the beloved wife of Arthur W. Fairfield. She was the loving mother of June E. Hawkins and husband Robert of Alaska, Patricia A. Devine and husband William of Wakefield and Sandra J. Furrier and husband Christopher of Wakefield. She is the grandmother of Brian and Adam Marsden, Julie Esposito, Jessica Devine, Christopher R. Furrier. She is the sister of Michael Leggett of Wakefield. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Leggett and her sister Genevieve Jones.

Her services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
