MALDEN — Frank S. Renzella, 87, of Malden, died at his home on Feb. 25.
Frank was born and raised in Malden and attended Malden High School. He worked as an upholsterer for Lounge Upholstery in Brockton for many years and Star Upholstery in Malden for over 20 years before his retirement.
Frank resided in Malden for many years and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Malden. He enjoyed and played golf at the Hillview Golf Club in North Reading in an over-70 golf league.
Frank loved gardening, bowling, playing cards and traveling to Aruba, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and all the other Caribbean islands, Africa and Spain.
The most important part of his life was spending time with his family and friends.
Frank was the beloved husband of the late Olympia A. “Lee” (Grieco) Renzella for 60 years. He was the loving father of Linda A. Murphy of Saugus and Paul B. Renzella of Nahant. He was the caring grandfather of James Murphy III of Saugus, Kristen Dorsky and her husband Adam, Brian Murphy and his wife Corey, all of Lynnfield, and April Renzella of Nahant. He was the devoted brother of Mary DiGiacomo and her late husband Armando, Yolanda DiBattista and her late husband Ernest, Albert Renzella and his late wife Jennie, all of Malden, the late Joseph Renzella and his wife Lillian of Burlington and the late Margaret DiGiacomo and her late husband Charles, the late Catherine Drinkwater and her late husband Fred and the late Peter Renzella and his late wife Carmela. Cherished great-grandfather of Olivia, Christian and Mila Murphy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Monday, March 2, at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 770 Salem St., Malden at 9 a.m.
Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
