LYNNFIELD — All Lynnfield residents are cordially invited to a patriotic catered cookout in honor of Memorial Day, Flag Day and Independence Day sponsored by the Veterans’ Services Office.
These festivities replace the cookout ordinarily held on Memorial Day which was rained out this year.
The patriotic-theme cookout will be held on Wednesday, June 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the town commons and will include DJ music. The rain date is Thursday, June 23.
It is recommended that attendees bring their own chairs or blankets for their comfort during the picnic cookout.
Prizes galore
Children and families are encouraged to decorate their bicycles, scooters, wagons, carriages and strollers in a patriotic theme. The Veterans’ Services Office will award prizes for the best patriotic decorations and will also distribute free flags to all children.
Veterans’ Services Officer Bruce Siegel particularly hopes to see those who participate in the town’s Memorial Day observances attend the cookout, including veterans and members of the town’s youth groups, such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and members of the LHS band.
