Bodi-obit_webMELROSE — Geraldine Bodi, 76, of Melrose, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Jan. 2.

Geri was born and raised in Roxbury, was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and went on to attend business school. Geri worked as an executive secretary for Furman Lumber in Billerica for 40 years before her retirement.

She resided in Melrose and was a member of St. Mary Church in Melrose for over 40 years.

Geri enjoyed going to Foxwoods, Twin Rivers Casino and was an avid Boston sports fan.

She was “Auntie Geri to everyone,” was a wonderful sister and dedicated aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Geri was the loving daughter of the late Marino and Alice (DeAngelis) Bodi. She was the caring sister of Alfred Bodi of New Hampshire, Emma DeSantis and her late husband Michele “Mike” Sr. of Melrose and the late Luigi Bodi, Pelmet Cirignano and Guido Bodi. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and best friends.

The funeral will be from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Jan 9, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
