LARGO, Fla. — Gertrude M. (Leuci) Jodrey, 82, passed away at her home in Largo Florida on July 3, 2017.
Gert was born in Chelsea on March 12,1935. She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Mrs. Jodrey lived in Melrose for over 40 years before moving to Florida 14 years ago. Gertrude worked for many years for the B&M Railroad and Amtrak as a telephone operator, bridge operator and as a clerk administrator for over 25 years. She was also very active with the railroad union. Gert was also a longtime member and past president of the Emblem Club at the Melrose Elks Lodge.
Mrs. Jodrey was the beloved wife of Arthur S. Jodrey of Florida. She was the loving mother of Charles W. Jodrey; Arthur W. Jodrey and his wife Kathleen, all of Florida; Peter W. Jodrey of New Hampshire; Michele R. Paone and her husband Vincent of Melrose; and Anna Maria Ross and her husband Richard of Haverhill. She was the cherished grandmother of Dylan, Derek, Nichole, Paul, Andrea and Theresa. She was the caring sister of William Leuci and his late wife Janet of Saugus; Elaine Leuci of Chelmsford; Rita Treadwell and her husband Huey of Maryland; and Mildred Demarco and her husband Ronald of Marlboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, July 10. A Funeral Service was held at the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11.
